Doyenne du Comice
A fine pear of excellent flavour - juicy, sweet, melting. Medium to large fruits nearly as wide as tall. Yellow, some with a red flush. All pears appreciate a warm sunny position but this variety especially so. Dates back to 1849 and introduced into the UK in 1858.
