Description : An old favourite. Golden coloured striped dull red with a brown russet. A dual purpose apple. Creamy white flesh aromatic and nutty in flavour. Good mildew resistance. A partial tip bearer. Vigorous in habit, so offered on dwarfer rootstocks.
Feathered or unfeathered: unfeathered.
Suitablity for cordon & espalier : Partial tip bearer so some fruit will be lost by summer pruning. Tends to be vigorous so grow on less vigorous rootstock.
History: From Woodstock, Oxfordshire, first recognised about 1740
